Today we were notified that two individuals at Bay Haven Charter Academy have tested positive for Covid 19. At the instant we found out, we began working hand-in-hand with the Florida Department of Health. In partnership, we conducted a contact tracing investigation and have notified all parents of students who were determined to be in close contact. If you did not receive a personal phone call from administration, rest assured that your child is not required to quarantine and was not found to be a close contact.
With all things considered, we will continue school as usual. With increased vigilance, we will implement additional cleaning and sanitation protocols and again, will do everything the Department of Health directs us to do. We are not asking your child to self-isolate or quarantine at this time. But we do encourage you as always to closely monitor your child’s health and to report any unusual symptoms to your health care provider.
Given the HIPAA requirements that surround someone’s medical information, we know you understand that we cannot release any more specific information about the student who tested positive.
To find the most up-to-date information and guidance on COVID-19, please visit the Department of Health’s dedicated COVID-19 website at FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov. We know these are trying times, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this together. We are here to partner with you and will be providing more information as needed.
